Our vision is Christ as Lord
Our vision is to become more like our loving saviour - Jesus Christ and we aim to show Christ's unconditional love to the community of Pontefract - Wakefield in West Yorkshire. This vision has today grown into a weekly Sunday worship experience, as well as a weekly meeting for dinner parties across our town.

Community & the People
We are a local church for the people of Pontefract, Barnsley, Castleford, Wakefield, and Doncaster and we believe church is more than just the four walls of a building. For us, it is about discovering and learning how to have an intentionally loving and genuine relationship with God and with one another.
We believe God is 1 being in 3 persons of the Father, Son (Jesus Christ) and the Holy Spirit. Meaning that the 3 of them agree as 1 (united in purpose). The Father’s incredible love for this Wakefield city and its environs is evident through the death and resurrection of his Son (Jesus Christ). We also believe that the church is a seed planted here for the demonstration of love and the welfare of the people and community.
We believe the church’s vision is to:
- Reach many people with the light and love of Christ.
- Teach the good news through worship experiences.
- Stay small through personal relationships.
Our purpose is

CoL is part of the bigger movement of the Redeemed Christian Church of God worldwide, who are mandated to make Heaven and take as many people with us through healthy relationships and holy living. As an international family, any member can walk into any of our RCCG Churches around the world and feel welcomed. We are united with Christ in His vision, and therefore our mission is to reconcile lost souls with God, make disciples and build his holy and loving church.
